| Help! Help! Help! Hayes 68mm to 74mm Adapter. I need one!!! | Gushmunda Jan 11, 2004 4:51 PM | | I am in dire need of a Hayes Adapter! 68mm (fork) to 74mm (caliper). I have a 1999 Manitou SX fork. (I cant change the fork!!) I have searched the net, I have seen the dealers. I am 1 step away from calling Hayes and getting their Autocad files and have the Adapter machined here locally for me. I would prefer to buy one if any one has one? If you know of anyone who has the above mentioned fork and they went from V-Brakes to Hayes Hydraulic and no longer uses this fork, please refer them here. Check around please. I need this part!
Thanks!

| If you are using a 6" rotor you will need a 68mm caliper | BalleRacing Jan 11, 2004 9:12 PM | | If you are using a 6" rotor you will need the 68mm caliper because it is a post mount fork and there is no room to put a adapter between the 74mm caliper and the fork post mount. If you are using a 8" rotor there should be room to make a adaper for the caliper. My distributor catalogs are showing that they the 68mm calipers are no longer available from Hayes. You may want to call Hayes and see if they may have a few 68mm calipers or caliper halfs. If they don't have any maybe put a want ad in and maybe someone has a used 68mm caliper. You can rebuild the calipers so a used one would be ok. If no one has the 68mm caliper you could have a machine shop there machine the 68mm caliper half. We could also machine the caliper half if we get the CAD files or drawings with dimensions and the tolerance of the bore from Hayes. We have Pro-Engineer, SolidWorks and MasterCAM.
