Raceface Northshore ISIS+ BB V.S. Azonic 454 (more)Bear

Hi,
Going to purchase a 01 kona Stuff and it comes stock with truvativ husselfelt BB + cranks ISIS. Heard bad things about them and prefer changing them when i buy than having to buy something else after.

Thinking of either the RF Northshore BB + cranks ISIS or the Azonic 454. Whats the weight difference between the two? Assuming Azonic is stiffer? Can you run two chainrings and a bashguard on the Azonic??

Thanks in advance,

Bear

I had the exact same dillema a while back, the 454 VS RF. I went ahead and went with the 454's cause I couldnt rationalize spending $350 for the RF. And yes you can run two chainrings and a bashguard, Im currently running my chainring sandwitched between two bashguards. You just have to get creative with some of those chainring bolts....and try some different combos out, guranteed your LBS has different length bolts. Good luck bro...

I use RF ns cranks w/ the isis bb and they are sick! You should just use the hussefelt bb if you get these, as the hussefelt bb is actually pretty nice. Look into profiles if you can afford it. They are super nice, but I doubt the Azonic's will let you down. The NSes are lighter, and just about as stiffm so you shouldn't be dissapointed.
is that garson from western mass.......chewy

How's NMH? I was wondering why I didn't see any of your posts on the message board. My hayes came today (they were $135 a wheel, but 6" rotors only. I'll trade them in for 8") and my Azonic Chubby bars should come tomorrow. What's your phone # at school? Check out the bike I'm building (it's in the dream bike section, near the top.) It's gonna be pretty sweet, and yes, it's a hardtail. I'll still keep DH racing with you though. Eagletraz (or ego-brook or whatever you want to call it) starts in about a week and a half. Tell Filler I said hi if you see him, as I haven't been able to get through to him. The greenfield skatepark just opened, so our dryland training for snowboarding is going to be a bit better than usual. Give me a call whenever you have the time. See you, and make sure to jump off something big for me in between classes ;-)

The Azonics weigh twice as much, are twice as stiff and are a lot cheaper than the RF ISIS NS. You can run one ring, two rings or three rings. Right now I'm running 454's with two rings and an LRP.
