I am not sure what the difference between the '01 & '02 are.

I do know that the '01 Shivers were notoriously flexy compared with boxxers, and they are still a lot heavier. Most guys still swear by Monster T's over Shivers.
Here we go again with the flexing issue........BMXman

My Shiver has no hint of flex, it's probably the stiffest fork I have ridden yet. Ask anyone who actually ownes one and you will see what I mean. I have ridden both the Monster T and the Boxxer and can say without a doubt neither one of them is stiffer than the Shiver. The Boxxer doesn't even come close and the Monster is about the same. You have to remember that as the Shiver gets deeper into it's travel it becomes stiffer at the same time.

Go out and ride one for an amount of time and make up your own mind. Donnie

Most whiners about inverted forks 'flexing' are referring to the uncompressed tortional twist - which isn't flex and doesn't make sense under normal riding circumstances.

When you are going even slightly downhill, the fork will compress, via sag and front-loading as center of gravity is now further forward. So think of a 7" travel fork now compressed about (under light duty) 2.5-3". Now try to 'twist it" etc. The significantly better bearing overlap has MULTIPLIED it's effect.

Now, take a hit, compress the for about 60-70% (around 5") and try again. Stiffer still!

I've seen the same, stupid 'twist test' for years - it's a meaningless crock so don't fall for it.

N.

BTW - most LBS employees all base their opinions on this test. There's no standard 'LBS School' that any of them have to attend for certification. If you want opinions of Inverted vs. 'Verted, go to a MotoX shop and ask the techs about it.
you gotta trust "nobody" he's been in the shock game a while. nmBMXman

Well, I have a pair of Hanebrink G7's and they're ridiculously flexy. The fact, they're fairly poor all round, but that's for another thread.
I'm thinking about buying some Shivers. Does anyone know when the '02s are due to be released? I don't want the '02s; I'm waiting for the '01s to go on sale when the '02s come out.
A couple of mail oreder places have them on sale for 800.BMXman

Damn it, Andrew! What have I said about not paying attention in school? LOL :D Remember what Mr Clemmens said: "Never let school get in the way of your education." HOO-HAA!

Kinda sucks... right now were learning that Chris Columbus was actually a brutal conquistidor who raped lots of people, something to actually pay attention to sadly. What ever you do, DON'T GET A FOX VANILLA RC for the Super, it's the worst shock ever... i'd take a Vanilla R over it.
