I would probably break it anyway because I lack the cognative ability to remember which lever is my front brake (I am running Moto-style) hence riding it off and into something hard and not overly impressed enough to move whilst I come-a-tumbling (Rock, Tree, Water Truck, Etc.) Just when you need a handfull of rear brake and you grab the front (full throttle).......my head still hurts.
The fork looks like a good XC fork:o) (flame bait I know)
