Mountain Cross = "the future"?(2 posts)

Mountain Cross = "the future"?ELi

Just saw a thing where Eric Carter said "Mountain Cross is...uh, could be the future of mountain biking." I'd have to agree. Especially with all the BMX-bakgrounds coming in (like me), DH is great- but MTBMX or BSX, or whatever they're finally going to call it, would be much more accesible than DH to alot of people around the country, and alot of the BMX guys simply have to buy 26 inches and they're in (no mountain trails to locate). Not to mention the fact that the 'Crossbikes could be all-around trailbikes as well, not the 40-lb DHers, and probably quite a bit less money.

Also, just read a thing in DIRT about a BSX race, where anybody could ride- 20", 24", 26"- it was real "run what you brung". Very cool. There seems to be a revolution brewing...

my personal vote is for MTBMX, since that what it IS:
Mountain Bike BMX

BSX for the "run-what-you-brung": Biker Super Cross
I've been doing it for the past year..Str8Dwn

To the dismay of many riders, I've been racing my PX in the Cruiser class at local BMX races. They get so pissed that I can beat them on my "mountain bike" that I've actually been protested a few times(with no success on their part). I agree with Eric's statement that this is a new wave of sport coming to the front. Frankly, I think it's great!
