fork spring helpjerkass

Ok I have a Jr t 01 6". When should I bottom my fork. If I am riding not jumping it only uses 4-4.5". I can ony get it to bottom if I jump off a loading dock 5'. The sag is 30% with 2.5 turns on preload the oil is to min. I am 160, I have progressive medium (145-180) I am thinking of soft (120-155). Am I not suppose to use all the travel? The springs are $80 so that is why I have not jumped into it.

First off you should be running around 20 perccent of your travel as sag. This should be done through preload. If you can't get proper sag through preload, then you'll need a different weight spring. After you acheive the proper pre-load you should only be able to bottom on large hits, or drops.

If you still aren't using full travel, try using different oil heights and weights.

Hope this helps,
Inclag
