| help me choose a good trailbike | Atom Oct 4, 2001 8:08 AM | | right now i ride a schwinn moab disc as my XC/trailbike. I want to swap out this frame for 2 reasons.
1.) I want a FS XC bike that can handle some plattekill'esque DHing, and also be able to climb some really steep, short singletrack.
2.) I dont want to ride anything that is now affiliated with Pacific bikes.
So I have been looking at the joyride from cortina.
What do you guys think of this frame for normal XC (singletrack, alot of climbing) and some light freeride and dh?
Any other good frames out there that I can consider for under 1000 |

I know they have a short top tube and they arn't all that expencive. As soon as I sell my Ellsworth Truth I am getting one. I need a bike I can race ds with as well as trail ride.

i would make sure that you have a good local dealer to handle your warranties

| so then what do you suggest ? | Atom Oct 4, 2001 6:50 PM | | dont want to spend more than 800 or so.
Want at least 4" of travel, and would like 4"-6" adjustability. I want to be able to climb. |
| 4-6" climbable and durable for 800 | JBone Oct 5, 2001 8:19 AM | | You wont find it unless you go used. Can you get a frame with 4-6" of travel new for 800? Sure. Will it last? No. |
| 4-6" climbable and durable for 800 | Atom Oct 5, 2001 10:09 AM | | well the cortina is under 800, but it only has 4" of travel. i might see if they have any shock upgrade options. |
