Drilling marzocchi to much compressionjerkass

I have a 01 Jr T and have to much compression. Will 5wt do much or should I drill. If have have done this tell me how. Will the oil help? Recomend please. I have propper sag, spring and oil is at min. I only seam to use 4.5-5" of fork unless I do a 6' drop.

5 wt oil will speed up how fast your fork compresses and rebounds. When you change the oil be very carefull measuring how much oil to put back in the fork. Too much will hinder the use of full travel (probably what is happenening now)

I have 5wt in my Mister T...at first i thought it was too fast rebounding, so I dialed in the compression dampening (you can do this internally on an '01 Jr), but now that I'm used to it I run it with zero external dampening.

1st of all, getting 5" out of a 6" fork is just fine. You don't want to get all 6" on small stuff. Just my opinion.
If you DO want to lighten the compression damping, do try to go with 5wt before drilling, but you may not have enough rebound damping as a result.
I drilled my Jr T and it helped out quite a bit. Take the fork apart and drill two 1.5mm holes 25mm's from the bottom of the damper (25mm's from the body, not includign the treaded part). I 4 holes in each damper and it helped out quite a bit.

Does it make the fork eat small bumps better? Can it only be done on a Marzocchi or can you do it to other open oil bath forks?

5wt oil will speed up both compression and rebound, your rebound is internally adjustable, the compression isn't.
You might be able to dial the rebound back to where you want it with the adjusters after using 5wt oil.

The compression holes are those ones in the side of the plungers near the bottom. You can either drill new ones near them or enlarge the current ones.
Drilling holes above the current ones will give you less damping in the top of the stroke but will still give the same hydraulic lock in the bottom part of the stroke to prevent bottoming.
Drilling the holes below the current ones will give you less hydraulic lock at the end, you may have problems with metal on metal bottomout.

You'll probably have to run higher oil after you drill the fork, the less compression damping will need a more progressive spring action to keep it off the bottom. You'll also get better action over sharp ripples and a smoother ride at speed.
