buying used stratos bad idea?(2 posts)

buying used stratos bad idea?NWO

I have been looking for a little more fork with around 6" - 7" of travel and $300 -$400. I can find some 6" Boxxers but have also seen a couple deals on S7's. Are people dumping them because they have major problems. Both the used ones I have found are supposed to be just back from statos with new seals and nuts. Are the new ones better? How is stratos for second owners? Will service cost a small fortune if I need it? I haven't made up my mind yet so if anyone can point me to some good deals I would appreciate it.

thanks

stratos makes great forks. real solid and real plush. they have had some seal problems on the s7's and s8's. all you do is replace the seals and you are good to go. i never had to. as for the new ones being better i don't think so. i think they are pretty much the same. if you are interested i have an s8 for sale in excellent condition. email me at cyp10@hotmail.com if you are interested or if you have any other questions.
