Oct 4, 2001 4:13 PM | | Man, talk about local bike shop service. What a load....should be called load of bull $hit (LBS). I go into this shop, looking to drop a few Gs on a nice DH bike, and all I get is attitude. No serivce, just lip talk trash talking other bikes. I mean come on, you don;t trash talk a customers bike. I'm looking to upgrade, and they tell me my Big Hit is garbage.
MAKES YOU WONDER WHY WE ARE GOING MAIL ORDER !!!! Never again will I step foot in this store !! |

mailorder shop, VSF is Charlies shop and apart from some attitude from the, uh, older mechanic, They've always been cool to me. |

There is one guy there with a bit of an attitude, but every shop I know of has at least one, some more than that. Sorry you had a bad experience there, but Ive been going there since they opened and Ive always been treated well. |

Vision is THE ONLY SHOP WITH THE BALLS TO STOCK HIGH-END STUFF
FOR DS/DH other shops in SF are totally useless, IMHO.
Try seeing a Dorado anywhere else in SF! Saw one in Charlie's
couple of days ago.

Oct 5, 2001 10:48 AM | | Ever been hanging in your local shop talking with your favorite tech and some random person comes in off the street and is looking for something.They dont carry it in stock so the person gets a little hot and says something totally irrational.His opinion is right in his head.Well all the guys in the retail buisness deal with this shit every day.Its not fun.I have worked in the bike/ski and sports industry for a long time and know how hard it is to make everyone happy.I personally know charlie at vsf and brent at kalo and one can not be related to the other.Kalo is out to make money and is going about it the wrong way.Charlie on the other hand does it cause he loves it.He carrys the stuff customers ask for and all the people I have ever sent there never had one bad thing to say.Mabye the guy who started this whole thing was an ass or mabye charlie was having a bad day.We all have those.But if we dont support the local shops we will lose a lot.Vision supports a team of racers,they would go away.He supports local races and events.All of this he does cause he loves it.He has a right to his opinion as much as you and I do.Go talk with him and you will see why I will always go back and send people there.All the people on this board are a bunch of rumor sprouting ,opinion bashing knuckle heads with the exception of a few.And you know who you are.Way to go Charlie.Keep up the good work. |
