I have a Bullit I am building up for XC/FR (in that priority). What are good tires for these applications? Thanks for any input.

I've been running the Continental Vertical Protection for a good 1,5 years now, both on my XC rig- and on my freeride bike [Joker SL 2001- though just for trailbiking, for dh that's other tyres] and they really do stick for the setup you talk about!... the foldable version is just under 600 grams- 580 on my kitchenweight, and they are pretty fat tires- 2,3" for that weight!

They have been used for XC trialbiking, with some uphill runs in Harzen- Germany, that took some 1,5 hours to complete... and after that, some really fast downhill where they hooked up good.
For normal XC biking- without that silly weight factor, these are some of the most complete tyres i've tried!... as well as being a comfortable tyre, they are some really good dh tyres, as long as you count out "real" sticky mud, these tyres give real DH tyres a run for the money!

In total, i'm on my 2'nd set now, and ready to shift for another new set of these tires.... in my 7 years of mtb'ing, i'm pretty sure that these babies are some of the most allround tyre you can come across!... in total i've tried some 15 different sets of "freeride" tyres, and these are my fave's! [that includes tyres as Spec. Master Control etc..

Check the tyre here:http://www.contitires.com/tires/images/vertpro.gif

Take Care... ;-)

I'm just truing to help this guy!... no offence taken- but i'm Danish by the way ;-)... but how the heck would you know!.... besides- check my email- DK stands for Denmark- not bloody Germany- you wank!

As editor on this migthy fine website: www.mtb.dk , i know enough about tyres to know which tyres are best for different purposes!... the Panaracer's are good tyres, but heavier and ternds to slide a bit more on heavy cornering... my opinion!

Take Care all ya' Yankz!
