Help choosing a frame(5 posts)

Help choosing a framemtb_nems
Nov 5, 2001 10:02 AM
I would like to get some advise from everyone. I need a new freeride\dualsport frame. I would like at least 5 in. travel. I am a big guy about 240 so I need a beefy frame. Would like to keep the cost under 1500.00 any suggestions, your input will be greatly appreciated. Oh I searched the review section, they desperately need to update that.

Thanks

Sounds like you're a prime candidate for a SC Bullit frame.

I like the Bullit but, I think four or five guys I ride with have Bullit's I would like to go a diferent direction. Are the Intense Uzzi's strictly DH or can they be built for more freeriding capabilities

Yes Uzzi's can be set up for freeride....but the SLX is going to run about $2000 for the frame. The SL is a little cheaper, but I think you are going to want more than 4" for freeriding.

So what if some of the people you ride with have the same bike. I ride a Bullit..my wife rides a Bullit...5 or 6 of the guys we ride with ride Bullits. It really makes no difference. Each one is different.

Just my opinion.

You are right about the bullit, other problem is that the dealer I am working with doesnt carry s.c. stuff and we have another shop that is a dealer. And for specific reasons I dont want to deal with anyone else. so kinda throws the bullit out of the picture. 2000.00 for the uzzi slx? wow they are proud arent they. Wonder what dealer cost is.
