HED DH rim opinions?moe

The hed rims look pretty cool, but I don't really know anything about them. Anyone had good or bad experiences with them? How do they compare to 321's? Thanks.

I've been running them on my tomac since june this year and have yet to have any problems with them. They build a really cool looking wheel and I get tons of comments on them almost everytime I ride the bike. From my experiences and a friend that introduced me to them, they are really strong rims and can take a good amount of abuse. The HED 45A's are really wide to, something that I like cause they give a huge tire footprint/contact area. I do believe tho, that a lot of wheel strength is in the wheel build itself. They work for me and I will continue running them until I destroy them, then I might try something different.

I have been running them for over a year now. Terrific rim, one of the widest available. Gives tire a super wide foot print. I have got black rims with black spokes looks great!!!

just to touch up on what he axel said, yes they are pretty nice, wide heavy ect. BUT they are built out of ceramic or somthing...(dont quote me) so when u dent them or warp them its the end of their life b/c they literarily break. Axcel sold his to some inecent kid at our school and it recently had a dent in the rear. The first day of trail riding this kid pretty much broke the wheel, it seperated and had little peices round spokes shatter off. Basically by the look of the hed they are maid for heavy exteme drops and DHing, the kinda thing that would go on a karpiel or avalanch, but there is the possibility of them braking or shattering when most would dent, warp, or go out of true engaging in this type of riding. Which would you prefer?? i think i will stick to my 321's and doublewides. Maybe this is complete bullcrap but its what i have heard and witnessed, it wasnt pretty, i will try and post a pic.
hope this helps CHewy.
if racing go for 321..CHewy

comparing btwn both, i would have to say in my opinion go for the 321's. basically from my experience they are stronger and a hell of a lot lighter. (see my post below) there is probably a reason why not many pros or ppl in general use em, especially compared to the 321's.

I just got mine. SICK!!!! The seems are nasty. Welded, and not machined. Not necessarily the prettiest rims, but they are sick. Worth every penny of the $80 price. I've only had them a few days, but from my short experience, and other peoples' advice, they're sick. Nice and round to make for a nice wheel build. SWEETNESS!!!!

arrows are round outta da box. I've seen suns and mavics come from the factory slightly bent or out of round. These are perfectly true and round. BTW, the PX is sick. Feels like it should have a motor, and it rides 100,000,000,000,000,000 times better than filler's sheety P.3. ;-)

I weigh 210 and can run my Intense 2.5 WC at 20 lbs without worrying about pinching. They make for a super wide footprint for more stability. SWEET!!!
