| Nokian Dual 2.3 Tires...Any experience? | JBone Nov 5, 2001 11:18 AM | | Im looking for a good winter freeride tire (live in SF Bay), anyone have experience with these? How are they at shedding mud? I used Hot S's last winter, and they worked ok (decent mud shedding), but thought Id look for something with a deeper tread pattern this year.

The sidewalls are thin and light, like most trail bike tires, and behave like that style of tire too. They don't behave like their big brothers. The knobs are BIG, would probably shed mud well cause it's still an open tread pattern. If that is the most important feature to you then you would probably like them, I was dissapointed with their handling. I use tioga 2.3's on my trail bike and like them better, the sidewall is stiffer. If you don't mind the weight you might check out the gazzi 2.3's instead, they have a stiffer sidewall and the same great tread pattern. |
