| Difference between WTB motoraptor and IRC Kujo DH? | Pro metheus Nov 6, 2001 8:16 AM | | These tires seem to have almost identical tread patterns. Has anyone given both tires enough time to feel any difference. Do they work better as a front or rear tire. I am looking to put it on as the front for my XC bike. |

I usually dont use tires under 2.4 but they are pretty nice for a rear tire. For thet size and aimed purpose they have pretty good traction. I would say i like better than my kujos b/w the nobs are slightly taller and sharper...a bit bigger grip. For rough XC and fast trail riding they would be nice. They are pretty fast rolling as well.

They come in a kevelar and steel bead but are far less durable than the Kujo DH's. I use the DH 2.65 and 2.35 for DH and they work really well. They wear great and have a pretty strong sidewall. For X-Country, you would want to keep the rotational mass to a min. so I would go with the WTB's. Hope this helps. |
| WTB has more casing options | allcapsguy Nov 6, 2001 12:08 PM | | WTB has a lot of casing options....don't believe the guys who say they are pinner and for XC only. Sure, the kevlar ones are great for that, but check out the DH version with the beefy sidewall for DH use-it is almost impossible to flat when used with the WTB rim.
Also the WTB tire has a rounder profile than the Kujo, and the black sidewalls look much better.
WTB is also coming out with different rubber compounds-the Kujo does not offer any other than their standard one. |
