Widest tire on a 24" Sun Rhino Lite or BFR?(5 posts)

Widest tire on a 24" Sun Rhino Lite or BFR?NJ_Don

I'm thinking of going to 24" wheels on my ds/dirt jumper bike. What's the widest tire that will fit a Sun 24" Rhino or BFR? Also, what are you guys running in 24" that works really good for trails/urban/skatepark?

Another question - what hubs have no QR setup? I'm looking for threaded BMX style axles or bolt into axle setup like the old Bullseye hubs.

Thanks for any info you might have.

I'm running 2,75 and 3,00 Arrows on my Rhyno Lites.
so a 3.0 Arrow will fit - cool - thanks! --NT--NJ_Don

Be careful with the BFR/Mammoth...go-ride.com

The 26" Arrow 3.0 will fit on a Mammoth, but will not seat completely straight. I've tried every trick to get 26" Arrows to work on both the Mammoth and Atomic Trail Pimp (very similar dimensions) and they won't. However, the Arrow 24" x 3.0 is a different tire and may work on a 24" BFR.

I just got my new bike (PX JFC) with 24" wheels f/r and it rides sick. 3.0 rear, 2.75 rear, arrow tires on arrow rims. Sick for dirt jumping and urban, I'll be doing my first trailride on it tomorrow, so I'll let you know about that if you want. About the axles, just buy a 9mm solid axle from a lbs. They come on cheap bikes and they just thread in.
