I know people who have used this thing on the XC bikes and either bent or broke their brake mounts. You really don't have a lot of options. I have an older Rocky Mountain that came with a disc adapter plate but it was a bolt-on and would flex like crazy. I had an older Marin without disc mounts and tried a disc adapter plate and it didn't work very well either. You could try to have someone design and weld one on for you but you could spend $$$ on that, too. Ever consider hydraulic caliper brakes like Magura as an option with the addition of the booster plate ? I would suggest this before trying all that other disc bolt-on adapter stuff.

I used a Brake Theropy on my Cheeta for 2 years(too many dh races to count) and never had a problem with it. I say go for it, you'll love it.

This is only food for thought but hope made those discs for the GT Lobo that didn't use the disc mount on the frame. You may be able to track one down and just change the arm so it bolts onto the canti mount. You could take it one step further and convert it to a floating caliper. Give me a yell if you need a hand working out the details.
interesting ?????Lefty

how do you think i could rig a floating brake on my 99 lts its some what similar to the old lobo and i've been thinking about it for a while as my frame basically jacks/locks out anytime a touch the rear brake
do you have any idea on giveing me pointers on what i could do my warentee is done now that gt is dead anyway so why not screw with my frame alittle. i'm too cheap to buy something, ad i like to screw with things.
did the old lobo have a floater on it or just a brake mount ??

this guy seems to make a decent disc brake adaptor. i have heard good things about it, though i would suggest emailing him to see if it will stand up to the rigors of dh'ing.
