| tubeless tires..yea or nay | bighit Jan 8, 2002 1:26 PM | | what do you think. i am thinking about building a set. they do feel real good at low pressure and have a ton of traction. hay if you flat you put a tube in. you would be carrying a tube anyway. i know there are no dh tires yet but they will come. |

for cross country racing hell yes but why a waste that much money on a new tubeless rim tubeless tire and have to screw around with leaking seals and the tires ain't seating right.
personally i used to not care about tires then i got a 2.35 intense dh allround tire front and rear with dh tubes and run them at about 25psi front and 35 rear and get more then enough traction and cornering grip
a hell of alot more cornering grip then my old pansy continetal exploer pros
and the bestpart no flats for 1 year and a half now that right my tire haven't gotten taken off my rims for a year a half now. while i useed to flat al the time with the contis and their pansy kevlar bead screw kevlar get wire bead always unless your a pansy.
good tires will out do tubeless from what i've seen atleast for what i do. and why not stick with a good thing when you got it. |
| i did some home work | bighit Jan 8, 2002 6:02 PM | | i came up with no good freeride or any good allaround tires that were tubeless. i am building a set of wheels and the rims are about 10. more than the ones i was going to use. not time yet. |
| i did some home work | Dhbiker911 Jan 8, 2002 6:45 PM | | All of michelins Dh tires are tubless compatible, Irc makes a tubless DH rim, and they offer the kujo in a tubless version. |
