I've had the vuelta excalibers freeride rims on my bike at the beginning of spring and was VERY disappointed with them.I checked the spoke tension after every ride and the still bent really easy.I side hopped of a log that was only 1 1/2 feet high and bent the rear rim then I taco'ed the front rim off a drop that was only 3 1/2 feet high.I then replaced them with the 521's and they have been awesome,I've been doing up to 10 foot drops all summer and they are still almost perfectly true......
i've had vuelta excal dh's for 1.5 years w/ no problem©2001

they've been on my hardtail for 1.5 years or so and have been dh'd on, urbaned on, dirtjumped on...not a single problem w/ the wheel coming out of round, majorly out of true or flatspots.

i'm impressed with them and have a set on my dh bike now. not many miles on that set, but they're mint after 2 real dh riding days.
