Get the avids. They are so sweet. Tons of power(I can endo while sitting down) and they are easy to setup/adjust.

Get the Avids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just wanted to point out that being able to endo while sitting down isn't really a good gauge as to the power of the brakes. I can do that with my V-brakes no problems.
That said, I would also reccomend the avids over the deore. I haven't ridden them but I've been researching brakes recently and the best I've found are the Avids and Hayes.

See ya

The Avids are more expensive no big deal. Apparently when they get wet they squeel. Is that because of the rookies setting them up or do they squeel a lot. That was my main concern. I have also heard it is easier to bend the rotor back when needed with the shimano mech's. Why are Avids better and I was thinking of putting them on the rear first. My front has ample power with V.
