I'm getting into the free ride and downhill thing, what do you guys think of the the KHS Fetish as a starter FR/DH bike? Or should I look into other frames and bikes. Thanks

i don't own one but look inside their brochure. It say's under every bike "not for extreme stunts or jumping".even under the dominatrax.that right there would eliminate me from buying it.
what's your price range? that will dictate what the right bike is.

I dont know what your problem is, there's no need to talk like that. KHS's aren't very good for much at all. I know someone who snapped TWO dominatrax frames right in half. He wasnt that hard on it either. I would consider something a bit more worthy like the bullit or something.

dh911, i have a crappy iron horse sgs and they don't even have a disclaimer like khs. I don't know about you but I like to have a little confidence in what I'm riding. plus look at all the replys below, that's why the have that disclaimer, their bikes suck. if it was liability ever bike would have it. do actually own one of these shitboxes??

i tested the fetish, it seems to ride nice, lots of travel. btw, i own a khs hardtail which has been wicked strong urban bike, so i don't think there is nething wrong with the bike...

although the disclaimer is suspicious...

My buddy has gone through 2 Fetish frames.......rubrduk

he weighs about 160 and isn't all that hard on them,..both had multiple stress cracks on the welds all around the rear link and bottom bracket, looks like poor design - this was with all original parts, then after the 2nd frame the rear shock started leaking, sent it to Stratos (for them to match it up) they said the shock body was machined wrong and just ate itself to death, he spent $300 on a Stratos shock - he should have sold the bike when he could. The shop i work/hang out at has dropped KHS becasue of that,...apparently KHS had over half of the Fetish and Dominatraxx frame come back on warranty in 2000/2001 according to a Rep/friend. On the good side,...the Bitch is a solid ride and they only had a couple of htem come back, my other buddy has one.

Rode one. Biggest piece of crap I ever threw a leg over. The DNM forks and shock are trash and just plain dangerous. I think I have seen better stuff from Huffy. Serious though. Save Your money and go for a better ride. This thing would be alright if the main goal is to get hurt.

I am 6'5", and weigh 235lbs. I have raced bmx cruiser class since the days they were 26" (Kos Kruiser, SE Racing, etc.). I don't know exactly what you guys are doing to your fetishes, but it sounds to me like no one has taken the time to set up their suspension correctly. Before I ever hit the trail with mine, I upgraded the spring to a 1200 rate, and added stiffer springs and heavier oil to the front on the stock DNM's. I have done a few decent drops with no problems at all. I might not be as radical as the rest of you, but I put the bike through some tough stuff. I would buy a fetish again, and would recommend it to anyone else. Just set it up before you go riding (and don't forget to turn the lock-out off!). For the price, nothing comes close.
