Thoughts on rebound settings for drops(3 posts)

Thoughts on rebound settings for dropsEJ
Jan 29, 2002 7:27 AM
Riding a Monster T and have been adjusting the rebound settings. Just trying to get an idea on how everyone sets up theirs for decent drops. I seem to like the rebound slower as not to kick back. Drops to transition does not seem to matter but, to flat seems like a little slower is better.

i've done expierments and read in magazines(mountain bike action) the best settins for droppin are a slow rebound so the bike will not bounce and buck u off on landing. run a higher compression for big stuff so u dont bottum out. find a nice drop and change each at one at a time and find your personal preference.

you pretty much have it already figured out. I crank my rebound super slow for doing big drops on both the front and rear.i have the 02 monster the rebound is 10x better than the 01 you can almost stop the shock completely. the only thing that sucks is it's a pain in the ass turning monsters back to normal riding.i wish they put better knobs on them instead of using a screw driver.
