ordering/setup of an Avalanche(5 posts)

ordering/setup of an AvalancheJames

I ordered an Avalanche shock about a weak ago or so. I hear a bunch of people saying "be honest with Craig", "make sure you answer all the questions" etc... Maybe I'm wrong but he didn't seem to ask me many questions. Weight:175, Bike:2000 Bullit, What kind of riding: general freeriding and some DH. Yeah, that was about it I think. I mean, I am not very very specific in the way I like my suspension setup (I do like faster rebound and light compression.... probably should have said that) but I expected some more questions. I did order it with the compression adjustment and it already has rebound so, is the adjustability with the on shock adjustments in a wide range if something is messed up? My problem is that I know there is a free-revalving period of like 30 days after you get the shock but I might not ride it because I live in Jersey and it's going to get colder and nastier out so I will go with my winter hardtail. Basically, what else did he ask any of you and should I be worried about getting some really slow rebounding shock that is not setup for me in the realm I like and it cannot be adjusted to that realm?

He's lately done a lot of shocks for Bullits (hmmmm. wonder why? ;) and can extrapolate more info faster with the fact that the bike is pretty straight-forward to begin with.

Never, ever fear with Avalanche.
