Help re: Steerer Length(3 posts)

Help re: Steerer Lengthsdtmtb

I've been offered a 03 Sherman Firefly cheap. Problem is it only has a 185mm steerer. My current set up from the top of the crown to top of the stem is 205mm with a 10mm spacer and a headlock.

My question is, would it be safe to run (without the spacer)??.

My stem is quite tall and I have a big cup headset.

Thanks in advance
depens on your stem....zedro

the stems i've had stated you can go 5mm under the top of the stem. If you ditch the 10mm spacer and get a lower profile stem you should be fine. The limitation is your stem however.

BTW, dont count the headlock in the overall measurement.
Thanks Zedrosdtmtb
