| the 823s are this year..... | Please Help Jan 22, 2004 2:24 PM | | how do they match up with 321 (stronger, same, or less).
Are they a good rim. I weigh 215. Ride mostly shuttle stuff. FR/DH very common for 5 foot hucks. I am looking to get my bike lighter so I am going tubeless. |

The key is setting the tire pressure so you dont bottom-out the rim. Tubeless allows you to run a higher relative pressure than with tubes for the same traction, so thats the key to not trashing them.
Also note the 823s are whats used on the new (03-04) Deemax wheelset, although they use a lower 28 spoke count. |

This bike is used for mostly urban assault with plenty of 5 foot drops to flat on concrete and they have not gotten knocked out of true in 6 months of riding them hard. I weigh 220 and run Maxxis Mofo DHs with Stans No Tube sealant in them. Definitely the best purchase I made in 2003 and I plan on picking up another pair for my other bike (my Trail set up Uzzi SLX). |
