HOW DO YOU GET DIRT BIKERS OFF...Dirt Works
Jan 22, 2004 5:11 PM
your jumps?!? I went to go ride my jumps today and I found out that some dirt biker had killed my jump!! Its not the first time either.. What would you guys do?!?
Plywood+Nails..pound the nails all over and cover with dirt!!!!!Beau

Put it in an area, nail side up, where you will remember. And say goodbye to those pesky buggers!!! Works every time. They go so fast, they can't remember where it happened!! Works even better for four wheelers that turn single track into fire roads.
sounds BEAUTIFUL!!! thanks BeauDirt Works

What if the guy lands his cycle with a blow out recks and breaks his neck. Can you live with that? I know you will get a bunch of smart asses saying hell ya but no one wants any body hurt. Here's a better Idea. Gets you a high powered rifle with a good scope. Set up behind a rock take aim then fire. That way it will be instant no suffering. Just kidding of course dont do it Please!!!
I'll tell them not to do it and to watch out..Dirt Works

and post a sign sayind, "PLEASE DO NOT DISTROY MY JUMPS!! I WORKED HARD TO BUILD THEM" and in .1 size print at the bottom it will say.. "I HAVE PUT BOARDS WITH NAILS UNDER THE SURFACE OF MY JUMP" and so if they want to be a hardass then they in trouble.. By the way, i dont think the tires will go flat untell they are 10 seconds after hitting them..
put them right before the jump and then on the landing...D Buck

no just kidding. I would try to find out who is doing it. If they don't stop do the nail trick. They'll quit coming when every time the leave they have flat tires. Same thing happened to some jumps I was workin on only with a 4 wheeler, the damage they do is amazing, even the farmer who's land I was on got pissed off, and kicked everyone off. Damn those throttle twisters!!!
see you all on the flip side.

It would have to be hug enails, and alot, i find so many things in my dirt bike tires, they are almost flat proof!!! just put a sign, that says u worked hard
and that they can builf right next to u
they are extreme guys to, they will respect u
i tell dudes, where they can bike, or dirt bike, other wise, just go and beat em in a race, if u HATE these guys, just string some piano wire across, make sure it is neck high!!!J/K

we have the same promlems. the only real solution is to keep building the jumps and make them real steep and real close, like normal rhythm sets. otherwise you will never end the battle unless you just kill the jump altogether.
little problem there...ikea

pissed off dirtbikers with shovels can do a lot of damage to the jumps... trust me.

i dont know about up there, but the nail and plywood method around here has resulted in mad old men bringing tractors out and levelling the whole damn area :(
hahahaha...D Buck

that sucks!!! Like I said before, find out who it is post some signs, and ask them to stop. They will probably respect you, the only reason they are hitting them now is b/c of convienence(sp?). And they probably don't know who's they are and what they are for.
Good Luck with whatever you may do.
