Sorry I can't help with the reg date. |

| re: leadville 100 registration | Bogus Nov 16, 2003 6:00 AM | | They send out applications right after the first of the year if I recall correctly. I've done it a few times and now I'm on their mailing list so it's kind of automatic for me. Go to www.leadvilletrail100.com and E-mail them your address and maybe call them and leave a message as well to make sure they get you on their mailing list.
It's key to send in the form ASAP after you get it because the race fills up immediately. They have a sort of lottery to decide who they pick that gives preference to prior racers and people who have volunteered for them in the past, etc. I'm not sure exactly how they decide who gets preference but I know they have several shorter rides and runs earlier in the year and I've heard if you go volunteer at one of those races (it's actually pretty fun and you can get in some high altitude training and preride some of the course the same weekend) you'll be guaranteed entry. |
| re: leadville 100 registration | Zignzag Nov 17, 2003 1:53 PM | | The 2004 date is Aug. 14.
I checked their web site (www.leadvilletrail100.com) but the online registration page doesn't work. The race doesn't fill up immediately since they went to the lottery system. Actually, since they keep raising the entry fee and starting field size it's not that hard to get into these days. |
| This from their web site.. | Zignzag Nov 17, 2003 2:13 PM | | www.leadvilletrail100.com
Registration for all the Leadville Trail 100 events for 2004 will be mailed Jan. 2, 2004. If you are NOT on our mailing list, send SASE to:

| that's 165000!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | wannbe 100 mile racer Nov 25, 2003 5:25 AM | | Why does this race cost so much?
Norba has marathon races in 2004 but race fee is $85 preregistered.
I don't get it why do these long races cost so much? |
| beaver creek 100 110.00 right now | 2fast4u Nov 26, 2003 11:26 PM | | if ya registar before new years its only 110 bucks and goes up twenty bucks after that.. guess i will be doing no long distance races at those prices.. |
| that's 165000!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | EricSS Dec 20, 2003 6:27 PM | | A lot of the money is earmarked for charity - Silver bells if I am right. Leadville is an extremely depressed old mining town and Ken started the Trail 100 running race to get people to visit. The mountainbike came next. I rode it 3 years ago and it was great. The event is one of the best around. You get what you pay for - extremely well organized and run event. Great aid stations and support. |
| Worth every penny | Jeromelo Jan 4, 2004 1:11 PM | | Very organized. Great swag. I got a nice long sleeve T-shirt a hooded sweatshirt with my name and race time on it, a very nice equipment bag filled with more swag. The mass feed spaghetti dinner with meatballs was excellent and I cater for a living!! There was a big ass tub full with Coors for anyone who wanted a brewski or two to wash down the pasta. The aid stations were the best I've seen....volunteers all over the place to fill your bottles or camelbak. If you finish the race in under 13 hrs. you get a very nice medal upon finishing the race. If you get it done under 12 hrs. you get a large Silver Leadville Trail 100 Belt buckle....get it done under 9 hrs. you get a extra large Silver and Gold buckls
Don't miss this one. It's a great event and I'm very sensitive to getting ripped off. |
