For those intersted;

You can get a copy of the '04 TransRockies by emailing kevin @ kevin.rideguide@shaw.ca . He's charging 35$/40$ US depending on VHS/DVD. The production quality is EXCELLENT!

If you're thinking about this race, doing it for the first time, or just curious - this is a must see! It includes the 1 hour RideGuide segment, which is very well done, along with 47 minutes of daily outtakes. Simply outstanding... made me want to start training for next year.... then I came to my senses.

..... and it made the trainer time fly by. This will be a worn thin tape by April in my house.

First impressions.....

1/ A birds eye view. If the helicopter footage doesn't give you the kick in the pants to do this race it will at least get you looking at airline fares for a riding vacation.

2/ Hilarious. The look on some peoples faces when they topped out the first powerline climb on day #1 in Fernie. I know that climb very well and it would scare the breakfast out of anyone from the flatlands. How many people had thoughts of abandoning after day #1?

3/ Organization. This analogy came to mind..... close a door on a 1 year old Cadillac then close a door on a similar Mercedes. Different isn't it?

4/ Focussed intensity. Brett Wolfe, one leg, rough trails, sick climbs.

5/ Toughness. The unyoung guy who crashed on Lusk Pass (day #6 of 7) and still finished. His face looked like a horse had kicked him, twice.

6/ Emotion. What a sight to see people, especially the Canmore Girls, ride across the finish line. Of the approximately 150 finishers, how many had dry eyes at the line? Not many I'll bet. I truly can't imagine what it will be like.

If you've already signed up, or are wavering on the fence, buy this tape. It is the single best motivational tool you could have. New XTR cranks won't get you to the finish line, this will!

Cheers,
Dave

And yes, I saw Mr. Broskovich mugging for the camera.
