| 12 Hours of Humboldt | Bigfoot Dec 28, 2003 8:36 AM | | 12 HOURS OF HUMBOLDT, AUGUST 28, 2004, ARCATA, CA 8AM-8PM
Now in its 3rd year, the 12 Hours of Humboldt is low-key grass-roots endurance racing at its finest. It all happens under the giant redwoods of the Arcata Community Forest (right next to Humboldt State U)on an 8-mile course that Tinker Juarez called "One of the bes I've ridden, and definitely the prettyest." The main venue is in adjacent Redwood Park -- set up your pits on the lawn and have a good time! And since it's all right in town (2-minutes from Hwy 101) everything is easy and convenient. You can literally have lunch delivered right to your pits "Hey guys, we want chinese or pizza?"
We'll have all the usual categories (beginner, sport, expert, pro, tandem, singlespeed, etc.) from 2-rider teams, 4-rider teams and solos.
Full details and entry forms will be on the website on or about March 30.

A note to all you from hot climates, August temperatures in Arcata are usually in the high 60's! |

This is *easily* one of THE best races in NorCal. The course is awesome (LOVE those tight and windy singletrack bits, especially at the end there). Plenty o' climbing (erg okay... LOTS) and lots of super fun singletrack with some rippin' descents. |
