I am planning on doing the Vail/Beavercreek 100 this year and am looking for feedback from anyone who did it last year. Quality of the event, what was the course like, FS or hard-tail, etc. Thanks
I have some feedbackjimmy

I have not done the 100 miler, its too hard for me. But I have done the 100k 2 times. I know the 100 mile course. There is a lot of climbing and it is really tough. I am not that great a climber and get discouraged after a while. There are 2 climbs, June Creek and Muddy Pass & both are ~ 3500 feet each of climbing, plus there is more. And, you have to descend both. June Creek is very rough and rocky & FS would be nice. Muddy is hardpack and then loose gravel. The race is very well run w/ lots of food, gatorade & support if needed. I am not a "racer" so all the support and the food, etc. make me feel great. It is a well run race. If you have a light FS bike I'd ride it.
