Pit/camp recommendations?(2 posts)

Pit/camp recommendations?AZBound

I'll be crewing for a good friend at the 24hrs of the Old Pueblo and wanted to know what is it he and his 3 teammates will need in the pits. This'll be his first 24hr event, and mine too, and I would like to know how best to help him. I won't be buying him a backup suspension fork or anything, but is there any sort of standard inventory for a pit/camp? I'm thinking its somewhere between showing up with a just a patch kit and bringing every bike tool and piece of camping gear I own. Thanks for any info.

That's awesome you are helping your friend......the more help there is the better the riders can concentrate on the job of just riding.

Bringing every bike tool you have is helpful, although the key ones will get you by (wrench, allen keys, chain breaker, spoke tool etc). More than 1 bikestand is good too.

Bike related items to bring: stand, spare tires (rain and dry), tubes, spare wheel(s) if you have them, an old bike which can be cannibalized if necessary, and any spare parts (esp. chains & rear Der)

Food wise: they'll figure it out

Camping Gear: Coleman stove or at least a burner (and matches), 2 pots, 2 pans, spatula, utensils, disposal cups, disposable plates, dishsoap, chairs for everyone (no picnic tables at Pueblo), canopy(s), fire wood

That should just about cover it.

I'll be racing solo at Pueblo (I'm coming all the way from the Great White North!)....see you there!
