| 24 Hour Solo Championship | Snakebite Jan 4, 2004 11:09 AM | | I believe there is a national and world event for 24 Hour Solo racing. How do you qualify for these events? I checked the USA Cycling site, 24 Hours of Adrenaline and talked to a few solos but have never gotten a solid anser. Can someone point me in the right direction. |
| Check out the 24Hrs Adrenalin Site on Jan 7 | Kaparzo Jan 4, 2004 12:32 PM | | In order to qualify for the world solo 24 hour championship you must place top five at any qualifying event (all 24hr adrenalin events and a few others) OR you must place top two in your age category. As for nationals I do not know, I think you can just enter in this one but as soon as the site comes back up on jan 7 take a look. |
| re: 24 Hour Solo Championship | kerkovej Jan 4, 2004 12:38 PM | | You don't need to qualify for National 24 Hour Championships. You just sign up in the cat. you want to race, and they ride you ass off for that special little jersey.
For "World's" you need to place in top 5 at a "Adrenaline" event, or do a search in you area, for a "world's" qualifiers race. These races consist of 24 and 12 hour races, 100 mile races, etc. If a local event is a qualifier, it will say on the website. Checkout www.wemseries.com for a good example. Anyother questions?? get back to me!

Team Cateye Enduro |
| Hey Jeff..... | sperk Jan 4, 2004 2:31 PM | | .....I see you put "Team Cateye Enduro" below your name. Is this the newly formed Cateye/Giant 24 Hour Team? |
| Hey Jeff..... | kerkovej Jan 5, 2004 9:58 AM | | yes sir |
| Hey Jeff..... | sperk Jan 5, 2004 1:09 PM | | Cool....I heard about it through Cateye (who is a sponsor of my team). It seems like there are more teams starting up that specialize in 24 hour/long distance MTB. Can you provide any info about the team? What races are you/the team planning to do this year? |
| re: 24 Hour Solo Championship | i.s. Jan 4, 2004 6:01 PM | | 24 hrs of adrenalin has gone bankrupt - check out trilife posting in this forum back in december
doubfyll that there will be a championships this year unless run by usa cycling or granny gear |
| re: 24 Hour Solo Championship | YES to 2004 World Solos Jan 5, 2004 9:52 AM | | My understanding is that yes there will be a 6th edition of the 24 Hours of Adrenalin World Solo Championships. I also understand that it will once again be held in Whister on the 5th & 6th of September, 2004. |
| 24 Hour Solo Championship cancelled | i.s. Jan 5, 2004 10:00 AM | | Nope you're wrong - trilife is bankrupt and the events will be cancelled - i would not trust enterning one of thier events even if they did start up a new one
u know who |
| 24 Hour Solo Championship... someone has an axe to grind | Can "u know who" be trusted? Jan 5, 2004 1:12 PM | | someone has an axe to grind... not sure I would trust some who calls themselves insyder or i.s. and proudly states "u know who" but is afraid to use there real name. The jury is out and I for one can wait for the whole story. |
| the jury will tell all - trilife will go down | i.s. Jan 6, 2004 2:00 PM | | any jury in it's right mind will expose the evil doers - see you at the finish line |
| Just because they are bankrupt doesnt mean they cant have events | Kaparzo Jan 5, 2004 10:38 AM | | The purpose of bankruptcy is to allow the filing company the opportunity to start anew and "hopefully" pay back all the debts (they usually dont though). Trilife will still have events because they will just start a new company and continue the series. See the posts below. |
| This brings-up an interesting point.... | SS_MB-7 Jan 5, 2004 12:15 PM | | I am considering racing solo at the 24 hrs of Adrenaline at Hardwood Hills (Barrie, ON).
FWIW, I've been doing this race for 9-yrs as a 5-man team (missed only the first year) and know Stuart fairly well (as well as Steve Merker (former TriLife guy)), but have been bitten by the solo-bug after racing at the 24 hrs of Summer Solstice last summer. I've stepped-down as team captain since I prefer the solo idea, and my team has pretty much packed-it-in anyway.
As most know, the Hardwood race is a huge race (the largest and oldest race that TriLife hosts), so going solo and doing well at Hardwood has some more clout to it.
According to the 24hoursofadrenaline.com website, the new site will be open on Jan 7th. I'm assuming, on-line registration will be available at this time, if not shortly after. Racing solo is $350CDN and solo is first-come-first-served, so I'd need to register ASAP to ensure a spot. However, if I register and TriLife cancels races (I doubt they'd cancel Hardwood because of its size), would a refund be issued? Unfortunately, I highly doubt it. I'm not sure if the risk is worth it.

| This brings-up an interesting point.... | sperk Jan 5, 2004 1:07 PM | | I raced solo at the Hardwood event last year....it is a tough race. I also do Kelso solo as well.
As for losing your money, my understanding is when you pay by credit card Trilife only is allowed to use a small % of the money and then the rest once you race (i.e. you receive the service). So if you do register and then they do go belly up, I think you can go to your credit card company and dispute the charge, indicating you never rec'd the goods (so to speak). I may be wrong, but pretty sure this is how it works.
See you at Hardwood! |
| you will lose your money | i.s. Jan 6, 2004 2:03 PM | | if trilife starts doing events again and they go belly up mid- season - y0ou can kiss your $$$ away. A credit card compnay cannot go back and get money from a company that has already spent it - you'd be better off doing another event |

May 15 & 16 Laguna Seca
Including US Solo National Championships Monterey, CA
You do not have to qualify for the National Championship, however in order to get one of the 250 slots for worlds you need to. Have a look at www.24hoursofadrenalin.com after the 7th.
hope this helps |
