Look like Trilife is going to re-emerge as Twenty4 Sportsslp3

The 24 Hrs of Adrenalin site has changed now....says everything will by done by Fri Jan 9. The Banner on the top of the browser says "Twenty4 Sports Inc.". I guess this is the new name for Trilife?

I for one am glad they are coming back....I wasn't sure what I was going to do this summer not participating in their races!
Hmm, I was on the site earlier today, but now it's "Coming Soon"...SS_MB-7

I was on the site earlier this morning looking to possibly register for the Hardwood race and read the annoucement about the registration being moved to the 9th to allow for testing. Now, it just says "Coming Soon"...no pics, etc., just straight text.

FWIW, I spoke with Stuart yesterday and I am confident that the 24 Hrs of Adrenaline series will continue.

Hey Mike,
Did you do the TransRockies on your SS? Just wondering...I've been toying with the idea and would be interested in your opinion.

I haven't done the TR yet....SS_MB-7

I haven't done the TR yet, this will be my first year.

Prior to registering, I emailed ~6 racers to ask them their opinion of the race, organization, etc. All were very happy with the race, organization, etc. One of which is an avid SS'er and highly recommended NOT doing it on a SS. It really pains me to go back to a geared bike, but I can't really see doing it on a SS. Perhaps after doing the '04 race with 24 gears, I can then make a knowledgeable personal decision to see if SS would be feasible for '05.

Yep, that's my plan too...I'm doing it this year on gears (sigh) to see what's possible for a TR05 SS campaign. I used to live in Calgary, so I'm very familiar with the riding on many of the stages...my concern on a SS is the significant amount of flat, gravel roads on some of the stages. We'll have to compare our perspectives on this issue during the race this year!

Are you doing TR and Hardwood?sperk

Mike....I checked our your website....very cool.

Aren't the TR and Hardwood races going to overlap?

If you do Hardwood see you there (I'll be riding solo too).

TR is Aug 8-14 and 24 Hrs is Aug 21-22...SS_MB-7

TR is Aug 8-14 and 24 Hrs is Aug 21-22. At this point, I haven't decided. I'd love to do the 24 Hrs solo, but I'm not sure if I'd be at all competitive after racing the TR less than a week before. If I can't be competitive, there's really no point. Unfortunately, I need to register ASAP for the 24 Hrs and won't know how I feel from the TR until Aug 15.

..... Cascade Creampuff again? If so, I'll see you there with some other Calgarians. Juliette (my wife), and another couple who are way faster than us are heading there after the Test of Metal. Just a little warmup ride before the TransRockies. Yikes!

See 'ya,

That was an expensive tape viewing session I'm guessing. We'd better order a case of chamois gel and advil now.

You bet! I'm planning doing the Test and then the Puff100 (both on my single-speed). It will be great to see you and Juliette and friends...I'll send you an e-mail, but all of you are welcome to crash with us...we're in between Squamish and Oakridge.

re: CCP100
Good call, you have some unfinished business there. That race course is so much fun even on the last lap. Let's hope the temps are a bit more manageable this year though.

Juliette thought I was crazy for attempting it last year then when I got home it took her about 1 day to say "Do you think I could do it?" Now I really have to get my a$$ in shape or she'll beat me!

The other couple are Pat & Trish. Pat you might remember from 24hrs solo in Canmore. He's going SS for the Test and CCP100 as well. Trish is a featherweight, scary fast on the uphill so the Puff will suit her just fine. She scored fastest women's day lap in Canmore in 2003. She and I will likely be duking it out throughout the CCP100, her smoking me on the climb and me reeling her in on the downhill. Or she'll just crush me into little pieces!

Send me an email when you have time and we'll see how plans work out for the week after the Test.

See 'ya,
Dave

East Coast 24hr w/ Genesis AdventuresLSett
Jan 9, 2004 1:36 PM
For those east coasters, Genesis Adventures is putting on a 24hr MTB race in Southern VT in September of 2004. I've participated in a bunch of their Adventure Races and they put on a kick ass race. I'm thinking about doing their 24hr later in the year- it's going to be at a beautiful venue. I'd also like to compare it to the 24hrs of Adrenalin (whom also puts on a great race in MA early in the season). The url is http://www.genesisadventures.com
I checked out genesis' website and no info on 24 hr race......Kaparzo
