| Something is Still not Right... | airman Jan 10, 2004 7:24 AM | | There is an announcement on the Chico Racing site that THEY are doing the Hardwood Hills race this year even though it is on the Trilife (?) schedule? see http://www.chicoracing.com/news1.htm .
Cheers |
| Something is Still not Right... | boulder Jan 11, 2004 5:22 PM | | You got that right. Something smells of skunk and BO. Check out www.canadiancyclist.com and look at the forums part. Adam Ruppel (organizer of Chico Racing in Toronto) says that Trilife/24 Sports (whatever it is called) is NOT holding the event in August in Barrie, Ont. He says Chico is in no way associated with Trilife and Trilife should NOT advertising a venue that they don't have. I wonder if Trilife is taking registrations for the event that will not take place? |
| save your money! ...Something is Still not Right... | Cowboy in canmore Jan 12, 2004 5:47 AM | | very true - something smell very skunky here - I would hold off registering for any adrenalin events - do you want to risk losing your money$$$ |
| The plot thickens.... | boulder Jan 12, 2004 9:58 AM | | Ahh... interesting times for the 24 event promotion industry. Now check out the www.canadiancyclist.com daily news to see the posting about the 24 hours and Chico racing. Apparently, the Hardwood event is definitely a Chico event and Chico racing even put in a bid to buy the assets of Trilife but lost it to Stuart Dorland (now called 24 Sprots) who bid on his own assets from the previous Trilife company. Hmmm.... As if cycling wasn't interesting enough. |
| Wouldn't you put in a bid? | insyder double xx Jan 12, 2004 7:51 PM | | I wish I knew about the asset sale from Trilife - I would have put a bid in as well - All the crap they own is worth something and I am sure the owner bought the stuff back for next to nothing - and who would know that they were going to just simply open up their doors again under a new name - and screw companies that they oweed money to.
maybe I would have put on an event with the best interests of the riders instead of myself and the bottom line $$$$! |
