| Chain Tool with SRAM Chain? | Nutmegger Oct 11, 2001 6:41 AM | | Having just broken my 2nd Shimano chain this season, I'm set on trying a SRAM. My questions are:
Do you still need to carry a chain tool? Does the chain ever break where you need the tool to put it back together so you can get home or can I just leave the chain tool home?
Thanks in advance for all responses. |

Now in my case, I have never broken a chain, but I have lent the tool twice to others who have. The weight isn't much of a load. |

All he had to do to get back on the trail was to remove the offending link and reattach the chain using an extra Powerlink. |
