| Time ATACs with Shimano M220 shoes | Waide Oct 15, 2001 12:38 PM | | I recently ordered some M220s online, and as I wait for them to arrive, I wonder how they will work with my Time pedals. My last pair of Specialized shoes required some minor modification, which I did with my boxcutter. I hope it will be that easy with the shimano shoes. I also need to get a new plastic pedal cover for one of my pedals. The old one fell off on a ride. My old pedals are bright green, but I would like to get four new ones in another color. Does anyone know where to get them? |
| re: Time ATACs with Shimano M220 shoes | Nate Oct 15, 2001 2:15 PM | | I used to use Shimano M110's with my ATACs without problem...or modification. I haven't seen any of the M220's to know what the sole looks like to know if they are modified easily. I read recently that ATAC's are designed to work the best with a shoe that has a cleat pocket with a 40mm width. That helps control the lateral float and keep the interface nice and solid. As for the plastic covers...my LBS was able to order some for me...I don't remember the price, I didn't specify a color and I ended up getting the green ones. I've also seen people ride the pedals without the plastic covers with no apparent ill effects if you can't find any replacements. |
| no problem | bones Oct 15, 2001 8:16 PM | | I ride on Time's and never plan to run any other pedal. I also use the M220's and there's absolutely no compatibility problem.
