i just built up a bike with 2x9 and had a big problem at 24hrs of moab. i dropped the chain a few times on the first lap(is this more common with 2x9, i also think i didn't have my limits in enough), my guess is that i bent a link during one of those chain drops, well the next lap... i started getting chain suck like crazy, and dropped out of that lap in fear of killing my new STP frame. a while back when i was asking about 2x9 i remember someone saying that you will go through alot of chains, he didn't however back up his claim. is this what he was talking about? thanks for any imput

just be real shure your limits are set, and it shouldn't be a problem. been running mine about a year now. after the first couple rides and fiddling with it, it's been fine. no chain drops outside or in. haven't noticed increased chain wear, but time will tell.
