Middle chain ring bent between...(1 post)

Middle chain ring bent between...fred³

two of the mounting holes(inward-toward the frame) a common occurence?

I was having trouble adjusting my wifes front derailleur which usually doesn't take that long. The chain kept wanting to drop to the small chain ring when I would get it close to being adjusted properly. Finally I dropped the chain and spun the cranks looking front to rear at the ring. It had a significant warp. Put it in a vice and squeezed. That took about 90 percent of the warp out and made adjusting possible. Now I'll get her a new ring, but was wondering if this is common as my old middle ring from my other bike was warped slightly too.

Thanks.
