SRAM availability on new bikesbikesforpeace
Jan 3, 2004 10:35 PM
Hi
Anyone know if the new X.0 or X.9 systems are standard equipment on any new bikes or am I going to have to build a frameset to get this sweet system?

Thanks for any info in advance.

but you could ask the retailer about 'upgrading' to the stuff you want. Might cost a little extra. Or just get the bike, slap the SRAM on and ebay the Shimano.

This is a good option. There's a good market for new Shimano stuff on ebay, or even on the classifieds on this site. Your LBS should allow you to upgrade at purchase time. They should only charge you the difference between the Shimano parts and the SRAM parts. My LBS gives me a 15% discount on all other stuff purchased at the time you buy the bike as well. Pretty standard deal, from what I can tell.
