I think what this fellow might be experiencing is a sticky freewheel or freehub, depending upon if his "cassette" actually is a cassette and freehub or if its a thread-on freewheel.
Anyway, if thats whats happening, then something is a little sticky in there. If its a freehub, then that can be removed and cleaned and/or lubed. If its a freewheel, then the best that can be done is try to get some thin lube like triflow down inside the freewheel since they dont really come apart too easily. I had a sticky freewheel on my campus bike which ended up fixing itself. Sometimes if the bike hasnt been ridden in a white, it just needs to be ridden a bit to get the freewheel or freehub moving again. |
