| CHAIN PROBLEM | NNJ Jan 17, 2004 9:42 AM | | Please help!!!
I have RD-M570 Shimano Deore LX rear deralleur, and CS-HG70-9 cassette sprocket in conjuction with CH-HG93 chain. All components are 9 speed compatible (including shifting levers). I 've managed to set rear deralleur, chain lenght as specified in Shimano instalation manual. Belive me everything works perfectly on a bike stand. Problem occures, when bike is driven and higher pressure is applied on crank arms (whole body weight on up-hill course!!!) Abnormal noise of CRACKING is heard from sprocket cassette ocasionaly. I can describe like chain wich is missed tooth of a sprocket. I happens on all gears in combination with middle chainwheel. Once again I must mention that this is not my first time to set up rear dearlleur corectly. (While normal pressure is applied on crank arms, everything works perfectly and quietly.
If anyone has idea where is a problem.... I would appriciate. |
| re: CHAIN PROBLEM | NNJ Jan 21, 2004 5:01 PM | | Actualy problem was not in the chain and/or rear deralleur, but in front chainwheel !!! Chain wheel was with too short tooths ?!! and caused chain to "jump" over tooths when adequate pressure is applied.
I solved problem with change of chainwheel!!!
