I know everyone is sick of hearing Kalo stories, here is one more.
Put down about $1950 for foes zigzag and various parts. bike never comes, so guess what--Kalo blames foes. I call foes, they give me tracking id, turns out frame was shipped to Kalo 3 times COD (Foes doesn't even trust him) and Bret (Kalo) each time has no money to pay the COD. When Kalo finds out I know the guys at Foes, he blames UPS. I contact UPS. Basically I don't give a F#$K who he blames I just want my money back. He makes all these excuses why he cant pay me, doesn't show up when he is suppose to, and even goes as far as saying that the reason he can't pay me is because his "credit agency was in the World Trade Center when the terrorist attack hit so all his funds are frozen..."
That was too much for me. How f!#king low and despicable can Kalo get. So I collected all my documents, recorded statements from Kalo, UPS invoices + subpoena for previous incidents, and statements from FOES racing, contact my works legal service (I work for the UC), and filed suit.
Anyone interested in joining a suit against Kalo MTB? I am in the process of a suing Kalo for $2000 + lost time from work + court charges. I have filed in the superior court of Alameda County and reported him to the District Attorney. We have subpoenaed documents from UPS that prove Kalo has an ongoing pattern of not being able to pay COD. Turns out UPS Security know about Kalo and is willing to cooperate.
Contact me if you have been ripped off by Kalo and want to put a stop to this thief.

Sep 27, 2001 9:58 PM | | the Better Business Bureau and the Consumer Protection Agency. Customer complaints go on their record, and they really do deal with companies (such as Kalo), who cheat customers.
I've had a bad experience with Kalo as well, but fortunately with much less money. And, the stem arrived (albeit 3 weeks late). |
