Stinky Hydro Pack(3 posts)

Does anyone have any tips on cleaning the outer shell of a Hydra pack? Mine smells like a locker room, if I leave it in a hot car, the whole car has that "after sport" smell for 24 hours. I ride three times per week and really sweat up. Help me, no one will ride with me anymore.

This seems to happen to me with all the synthetic fiber clothes. I use a little bleach in water and soak the clothes for an hour or so... Then into the wash with a little extra detergent. If their really bad --- Febrez! Now you at least smell like a flower!

You really can't do anything. As the previous post noted, the synthetics all have this problem. I have tried probably half a dozen different brands - they all get a stench regardless of what the manufacturer claims. The techno/bio explanation I've read in a couple places is: there are small "particles" from your body that stay trapped in the fabric and as soon as they are heated up the stink starts/get worse than it already is.
