Light Rear Tire that climbs well(3 posts)

Light Rear Tire that climbs wellc

I'm looking for a good rear tire that is lighter than my current (steel velociraptor 1.95) one but still climbs well. I'm riding a full suss (fisher sugar 4) and do mostly hardpack/rocky stuff.

I've seen great reviews for panaracer fire xc, but don't want 2.1 in rear and it seems like the 1.8 would give less climbing traction from being so small. Any personal experience with Fire XC or any other tire suggestion welcome.

As a side note - I like to keep a high pressure (~45 psi) and would prefer to do that with new tire as well - but if 1.8 w/ lower pressure works well, would consider that.

Ritchey Z-Max WCS meybe? I run that in the back and the Fire XC up front. Works great for me.
Oddly enough, I really like the way the old OnZa Porc performed as a rear tire....1.8 kevlar.
