Don't get pissed off...HELP
Sep 27, 2001 10:14 AM
but I have no other place to go for help. My pc crashed the other day and I had to start from scratch. I was able to reload most of my software but not Adobe Photoshop 4.0. I have owned this program for years but must have lost the disk. Can anyone help me? I called Adobe and they won't help.

I chose not to use my name since I expect a ton of pissed off people.

I'm a true mountain biker and have been visiting and contributing to this site for about a year now. I'm not looking for a freebie. I'm just a fellow rider in need.

Thanks.

Download imesh or bearshare. You can download about anything you want from there. A friend of mine(yeah, right) got the full blown version of adobe photo the other day. www.astalavista.box.sk is a hacker search site you can use to find a new (hmmm...or perhaps your old ;) serial number.
You could..Cracker

One could download the trialware version of it from adobe's site. Then one could goto astalavista.com do a search on photoshop and download the crack that makes it a full installation. One would have to make sure that you download the right corresponding versions.

Illegal, but works. Do this at your own risk.

I guess it wouldn't be illegal if I found 4.0 somewhere and used my original registration # which I saved. Thanks guys. It's usually not my style to work around the system, but Adobe was no help to me.
just so we're clearJbird

I understand your problem here, but you don't blame Adobe for not being helpful without any documentation that you purchased the product? Also, let's say you had the original serial number, what price would you pay for replacement media? As a former software employee, we heard so many stories, but the issue is that ultimately many people don't even think they should pay for replacement media, and it used to be a pet peeve...I repeat, "used to be". Life seems shorter to me now, so I try not to let the liitle things be an issue any more.
No matter what, it sucks that you had to go through the rebuid experience. I would try to find a firend that has a "backup copy" that you could look at to see if that is what your missing...clearly I am not advocating you install that "backup" copy :-). Good luck and hopefully you'll be able to find your software.
