I currently own a Cannondale Jekyll 700 W/ a ti lefty. The coda rims suck, Everytime I ride a spoke breaks or the fims becomes untrue.
The bike has magura julie disc brakes and a Coda expert hub. I want new rims and was thinking SUN "Mammoths" or "Rhyno-lites". I'm 6' even and weigh 210 lbs. I like to ride xc but also like downhill and rim weigh is not an issue.
Thanks,
knocker

Sun/Ringle isn't a bad choice. Good value for the $$. I'd lean towards the Rhyno-lites if you want some XC use. Check out www.ringle.com. You can buy factory direct too (online)...I did, good customer service.

Good Luck

Considering your preference to xc AND dh I'd recommend the Mavic D521's which are designed more for freeride/dh but not too heavy and would be ample strong for someone your size and weight.
Might like to add that spoke breaking might have more to do with experience of wheelbuilder and choice of spokes (and nipples if running discs). One might run DH discs and if the build was crap you might just as likely experience the aforementioned.
But yes, if the 521's are built good, it'd be pretty tough to bust.

Two choice: Theres a wheel called a Vuella (im pretty sure i spelled this wrong) "Freeride" which is a nice disc specific rim. Then theres the Bonty mustang which will have a conventional brake surface on it but work nicely.
