I have a Conti' Vertical Protection. Its the 2002 version of the Vertical Pro. More sidewall Protection is the only difference.

Hey Rev,
Yeah, that's what I thought. Although the other guy in the post was asking about the survival.
I recently bought both. Like you, I love the vertical up front. Minimal rolling resistance, corners great & I like being able to run 35-40 psi & not pinch. However, I hated the survival up front, at least in the relatively dry stuff we have now in Northern NJ. I bought it mail-order & hadn't seen it up close until it arrived. It's really beefy & has a ton of rolling resistance. I teamed it up with a hutch gator in the rear for the more rocky, wet stuff, but I don't think I'll use it again up front. It also doesn't corner well. Not too confidence inspiring, IMHO. I do think it will be a good rear tire when it gets wetter, but all in all I like the gator better. Less rolling resistance and still real grippy (I think Conti & Hutch, both use the soft European rubber).

Anyway, thanks for getting back to me.
