I think snow biking is pretty fun. But if you're not interested in snow I guess you'd have to go south, sorry.
Try skiing andyou'll know (nm)

Have you tried biking in the snow? At least Canadian snow?
If you could get three pedal strokes off without going down then I'd be impressed. If you have "snow tires" then you might get off four.
real bikers bike all year round; read thisMtn Mike

Have you ever biked on a well packed snow track, such as a snowmobile or dog sled course? It works just fine and is sort of like biking on dirt. Check out these links:

This site has everything about winter biking...

This site talks about Iditasport; the ultra marathon in the wilderness of Alaska that takes place in February. Look at the page and you'll see that top finishers are ALWAYS mountain bikers.

Bullards Bar / CAsheebo

Located outside Nevada City, Bullards Bar reservoir sits at about 2,000 ft. There is a great network of singletrack that runs through fairly thick forested areas and some old growth redwoods. The preferred ride we do is about 28 miles with maybe 2,500ft of combined climbing. 20 miles from Bullards Bar is the Downieville area. During the winter months, only the lower Divides are open due to high elevation snowfall. But everything below is great. Also not to miss is the Pioneer/Burlington Ridge trails 5 miles above downtown Nevada City and also the entire South Yuba river area. Check out yubaexpeditions.com for info and trail maps. Enjoy.
