Stupid, easy question...MM

Do you turn spokes to the right or left to tighten them? (If you're looking at the side of the wheel closest to the hub.)

You turn the nipple, and it screws onto the spoke the same way everything (except your left crank bolt) screws onto everything else--clockwise when viewed from above.
If you're kneeling facing the wheel, working with a spoke at 6 o'clock, it will turn from left to right to tighten. If it's at 12 o'clock, it will go from right to left. Just remember you're screwing the nipple onto the spoke.
This is no kidding: When I'm working at an odd angle, under a car or something, I have to envision myself holding the lid of a peanut butter jar and trying to loosen or tighten it.
ThanksMM
