Are SRAM 9.0 SL hubs any good?(4 posts)

Are SRAM 9.0 SL hubs any good?MD

Pricepoint has them for $34.98 and $44.98 for the front and rear hubs respectively. What seems nice is that (1) they're inexpensive, (2) they're claimed to be relatively light at 145g front and 325g rear, and (3) they appear to have a removable disk rotor adapter (I may run disks in the future, but not at this time). There's no reviews in the "Product Reviews" boards, nor any info on these at SRAM's web site. It looks like they're not making them any more, so maybe they had problems, really sucked, or just wouldn't sell.

Anybody using these, or have any prior experience with them, good or bad? Thanks.
I've use SRAM hubs before...martini

and actually have a set of these(not used yet though). The other hubs I used were actually of the Sachs brand before they were converted to SRAM. The bearings were ultra smooth, the hub just rolled and rolled, seemingly effortlessly. The rear hub seemed pretty durable, but take that with a grain of salt, I'm not hard on my parts even though I wiegh in the 200+ category.

If you do buy these hubs, buy the adapters right away as well. I've heard that SRAM is making an integrated disc hub now, like everyone else. I'd think that if this is the case, those adapters would be quite hard to find soon.

Riding on a Sachs Quartz for the commuter bike. Had the wheel longer than the bike. (It is on it's third bike.) It was a smooth build, it has not had service (except to tighten the bearings once), and still spins as smooth as the day it was bought. It has to be one of the most bombproof wheels I've ever ridden. (Knock on wood!)

When bought it was lighter than XT, and cost the same. I've had absolutely no problems with it, and would buy another in a heartbeat.

I have SRAM hubs on a couple of bikes, been on them for over 2 years, no problems to report.
